Description: The New Reynell Developmental Language Scales (NRDLS) identifies speech and language delays and impairments in very young children (3-7.5 years of age). The NRDLS provides diagnostic information about a child's production and understanding of spoken language. The NRDLS Record Forms (pkg 25) are even easier to use than previous editions. The Record Booklet contains detailed instructions and a simple marking scheme. The instructions in the Record Booklet are very important - it is vital that the exact wording for each item is used in order for the results to be interpreted correctly. Most sections of the assessment have practice items outlined in the Record Booklet. These are given so that the tester can check that the child understands the procedure used. All practice items are shaded in the Record Booklet, and are not scored. Practice items may be repeated until the tester is confident that the child understands the procedure.
