Description: Learning Medium Frequency Words has been written for pupils with special educational needs at Key Stages 2 - 3 who are learning the medium frequency words (List 2) as laid down in the National Literacy Strategy. This series covers all the List 2 words for years 4 - 5 inclusive. The books provide a multisensory approach to learning. Three pages are allocated for each unit of words; the first page providing an introduction to the words, the second and third pages providing opportunities for reinforcement work. In addition, on the second page they have to demonstrate understanding of the words. Further reinforcement of the words with lotto games and word searches is provided in a section at the back of each book. Although the reading age is only 6+ the interest level is 7-12 years.
