Description: A 25.5cm (10") dual scale transparent demonstration thermometer with an adjustable 18cm (7") red bar which slides to indicate temperatures and features a fahrenheit scale from -40° to 212° and a celsius scale from -40° to 100°. Each scale has marks labelled for every ten degrees with smaller subdivision marks between them to indicate temperatures to the nearest two degrees. The thermometer is pre-marked with the freezing and boiling points of water and body and room temperature. The transparent thermometer, which represents the liquid in glass type thermometer, is ideal for use on overhead projectors or as individual teaching aids to demonstrate how thermometers work, how to read the temperature, what they are used to measure and associating temperatures with every day activities. The dual scale also allows older students to convert temperatures from one scale to another and can be used to help them understand how to add and subtract integers (positive and negative numbers and zero) by applying them to real life situations.
